Cancer is personal to me. I have lost family and dear friends to cancer. I treat each patient sitting in front of me as if they were my Mother, Father, Brother or Sister. I consider all options for each patient in the fight against their cancer, including standards of care, the most innovative clinical trials, compassionate use agents and other "outside the box" options as long as these treatments don't sacrifice quality of life. I take time to understand my patient's wishes so we are on the same page when making decisions to proceed more aggressively or focus on comfort and life goals. I am unique and pride myself on taking all of the time necessary to spend sharing and teaching my patients and their families until each and every one of their questions is answered. I believe at the center of each Doctor-Patient relationship is Trust. Trust that has developed through me showing genuine concern and empathy. Trust that the patient knows they have access to speak to me at any time. Trust that I have the latest knowledge about their cancer and options. Trust that I will take the time to educate them at whatever their level of understanding is so they truly understand their cancer, prognosis and their options. I couldn't be more blessed to have found a profession, passion, and calling that allows me to develop lasting deep relationships with my patients, provide compassion, care and hope while serving as a guide for my patients during this journey.
